On November 3 Drumheller RCMP executed a search warrant at two residences in the Town of Drumheller, as well as search warrants on two vehicles.  As a result of the search warrants, the following items were seized by RCMP:

  • A quantity of suspected methamphetamine
  • Canadian currency
  • Prohibited Weapons including Butterfly Knives and shotgun ammunition
  • Stolen property from 9 victims. 

 
Drumheller resident 43-year-old Steven Dixon was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a prohibited weapon, stolen property, and two counts of breach of an undertaking. Dixon will be appearing in Drumheller Provincial court on December 9.

Drumheller resident 32-year-old Justin Lenfesty has been charged with 8 counts of possession of stolen property and breach of probation order. Lenfesty will be appearing in Drumheller Provincial court on November 25th.

A third Drumheller resident, 33-year-old Justine Carruthers, has also been charged with 8 counts of possession of stolen property. She will be appearing in Drumheller Provincial court on December 9th 

In addition to the three individuals being charged a fourth individual was arrested but later released with no charges pending further investigation.

It was a combined effort by many different departments during a drug trafficking investigation in Drumheller.  

The investigation involved the Drumheller General Investigation Section, assisted by Lethbridge Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team, Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit, and Drumheller General Duty. They conducted an investigation into drug trafficking activities in Drumheller, between September and November of 2022. As a result of the investigation, evidence was obtained that led to the arrest of four suspects on November 3.
