The Remax/KEY Easter egg hunt is making its return after several years away due to covid, and one of the owners of Remax/Key Hayley Poirier is excited to bring it back with a bang. With around 2000 eggs and chocolates to find and several big prizes, Poirier expects any kids hunting for eggs to be happy with their haul.

"I think it would be reasonable to say that we're going to try to make sure that we've got something for everybody. And our sponsors have been giving graciously to make sure that we do have enough for everybody that's there," she said.

Among those sponsors is Strathmore Value Drug Mart, which has donated 300 eggs with vouchers for ice cream, as well as Canadian Tire, which is hiding two vouchers for bikes among the thousands of eggs and candies to hunt.

There will be more than just the egg hunt though, as Poirier said there is also an Easter bonnet contest, where kids would come to the Kinsmen Park pavilion with their decorated bonnet. The winners will receive stuffies from sponsors Lil' Hoots and Shoppers Drug Mart, and that will be judged by guest-judge Natalie Johnstone from 104.5 More Country

Poirier added all ages are welcome to join, and there will be a designated area for kids aged 0-5 to do their hunt, while everyone else will have the rest of the area. In the past she said there's been around 600 people attending, so she's looking forward to seeing all the happy faces celebrate Easter together.

"We're just so excited to be able to be bringing this back for Strathmore and area and look forward to seeing everybody, rain or shine."

The event will take place on April 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Kinsmen Park.
