The 104.5 More Country crew headed out on their first Grain Rush delivery to visit the Tower family, who were working 25 minutes east of Strathmore.

Tower Ranches was established in 1906, and Terry Tower is proud to say that his son Curtis is working the family farm and Curtis’s son Spencer is going into his second year at Olds college taking agriculture so he can come home and follow in the family footsteps.

Along with Spencer, Curtis’s eldest daughter Lexi runs equipment and is a big part of the operation.

With the heat waves across the county during August, it stepped up the timeline this year and they are starting earlier than normal, and Curtis chuckled saying as long as nothing goes haywire we should be done before the end of October this year!

With their peas already done the family operation is now focusing on their 3500 acres of wheat, barley, and Canola.

Today’s delivery was sponsored by JMR-Jay’s Mechanical Repair and Aquilla Homes with lunch provided by Wildfire BBQ.
