How about a nice cool drink on such a hot summer day? Finding a lemonade stand in town is part of the summertime in Strathmore. Today, we found 10-year-old Amelia and 9-year-old McKinley in the neighbourhood of Strathaven in Strathmore selling lemonade. But it's not for their own profit, as these girls are selling the lemonade so they can donate the proceeds to Alpine View Rescued Paws and the Happy Cat Sanctuary! McKinley says she at one time had two dogs, but they’ve sadly passed away.

Amelia says, “We are selling lemonade for the donations for Alpine View Rescue Paws and Happy Cat. We thought it would be a good cause to donate all the money to rescues and help all the animals.”

So far McKinley says their sales today have been pretty good as they’ve raised about $30 to $40.

A nice cup of iced lemonade will cost you only $1. The girls will be selling lemonade until Friday this week from 12 to 4 p.m.
