The annual installation of the Field of Crosses will take place after Halloween.

Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No.10 in Strathmore will be working to install the crosses out in front of the Memorial Hall on November 1.

The Field of Crosses is a display of crosses that bear the names of fallen soldiers from the region. The names of the soldiers are written on the crosses, which are usually displayed with Canadian flags.

Then during Remembrance Day ceremonies, the names of those soldiers are read aloud, along with the names on the Cenotaph, on November 11.

Last year the Remembrance Day service was held at the Memorial Hall with approximately 70 people in attendance. The private service was streamed online for the public to see.

There were approximately 2,500 views.

Members of the public are welcome to come and view the Field of Crosses, which is located outside on the grass in front of the Memorial Hall and the Cenotaph.

Bruce Westgard, Strathmore Legion President said they are hoping to host the community Remembrance Day service this year, more information will be revealed closer to Remembrance Day.
