Volunteer at the Strathmore and District Agricultural Society, Jennifer McGuire is the Volunteer of the Month!

"It's overwhelming. I didn't realize I would be recognized for that role. I love working with the Strathmore Agricultural Society," said McGuire.

McGuire is the event coordinator for the markets for the Cowboy Town concert and the Strathmore Stampede.

"I have been doing this for quite a few years. I also work in another department for the Strathmore Agriculture Society. I am the manager of the ball diamond concession."

This is the first Volunteer of the Month that Strathmore Re/Max Key relator, Hayley Poirier has done with 104.5 More Country.

"The idea of what people like Jennifer do for our community is something that I wanted to ensure we recognize. The volunteers are quietly going behind the scenes and doing what they do as volunteers and so celebrating them, even in the smallest way, is just something that I felt was really important," expressed Poirier.

McGuire expresses her heartfelt thank you to Poirier and to the people who nominated her and leaves off by saying what being a volunteer means to her.

"It's not because of being a volunteer. It's just because you get to meet all these different people. You get to make sure that they have a good experience and you have fun doing it," said McGuire.

Community members can text the 104.5 More Country station at 403-901-1111 to nominate a volunteer that they feel goes above and beyond in the community.

Winners will be picked at the end of every month and will receive $100 from Poirier to pamper themselves with.
