The Strathmore Stampede is just a week away and this year there will be a few places for you to get in the stampede swing with pancake breakfasts, BBQs and more throughout the weekend.

This year along with the standard events a couple of businesses will also be getting into the spirit of the weekend with free events: 

August 3:

  • Magnum Cementing Services Pancake Breakfast: Magnum will be hosting a FREE pancake breakfast and celebrating the signing of the MOU with Siksika. Breakfast will be from 8-10am and the MOU ceremony will start at 10, event will be held at 601 Westmount Road.
  • Outdoor Show with Ken Stobbe: The Strathmore Stampede is coming and to get us in the spirit Ken Stobbe will be performing live at the steps of the VAULT (next door to Value Drug Mart) on from 1-3 pm to kick off the celebrations! Ken will be playing some old country and a bunch of 50’s and 60’s tunes! Come on down to enjoy some great music and get in the stampede spirit.
  • Strathmore Dodge Stampede Kickoff BBQ: From 4-7pm on Thursday Aug 3rd Strathmore Dodge is hosting their annual Stampede Kickoff BBQ featuring country recording artist Ryan Lindsay and delicious BBQ with both Mikes Bar & Grill and Baldwin BBQ on site with proceeds from the event going to support TrueNorth (Formally Wheatland Crisis Society) stop by the dealership at 100 Canal Ave and join 104.5 More Country on location to kick off the Strathmore Stampede! 

August 4th:

  • Legion Pancake Breakfast: YEEE HAW The Famous Legion Breakfast is back after a little break! Mark the day Friday August 4th from 7:30-10:30 am
  • Hot Dog lunch with Royal Lepage Benchmark: Mosey on down to the NEW Strathmore office for a Charity Hot Dog lunch from 11-1 with ALL proceeds from the BBQ going to support the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation and True North (formally Wheatland Crisis Society). Grab a bite and have some fun, the crew will be joined by the Wheatland Whirlers and have face painting, games...and of course hot dogs!!! The new offices are located at 125 2nd Ave
  • Trellis Open House BBQ:  Come on out from 11-2PM for a FREE BBQ for you and the family, the BBQ will include games, facepainting and a Bike Safety Course free for youth who bring bicycles and helmets. In addition, Trellis will also be raffling off some bikes! Trellis Commons Family Resource Network, is located at 419B 2nd St.
  • Stampede BBQ with Fueling Brains:  Join Fueling Brains Academy (FBA) from 2-4 pm for a FREE BBQ with activities for the kids and FBA tours.  Join the team in the parking lot at 140 Cambridge Glen! 
  • August 4th - Strathmore Stampede:
    • Rodeo - 1pm
    • Chuckwagon Races - 7pm
    • Corb Lund concert - Concert starts after the Chuckwagons

August 5th:

  • Lord of All Lutheran Church Pancake Breakfast: Lord of All Lutheran Church is hosting a pancake breakfast fundraiser from 7:30-8:30 in the church parking lot at 112 Lakeside Blvd, breakfast is $5 per person 6 years and up. Set up your chairs for great seats at the parade, enjoy breakfast and connect with your neighbours. 
  • Remedy RX Pharmacy for a FREE Pancake Breakfast: Join the team at Remedy RX Pharmacy for a FREE Pancake Breakfast will be hosting a pancake breakfast from 8-10am at 320 2nd Street... on your way to the parade stop by and get your pancake fix!!
  • Stampede Parade: The Strathmore Stampede parade will get started at 9 am, make your way to downtown Strathmore to celebrate and honour this year's them "The Golden Years" celebrating 50 years of the Strathmore AG Society! 
  • MP Martin Shields annual hot dog fundraiser: Right after the Strathmore Stampede parade come on out to Kinsmen Park at 11:30 and join MP Martin Shields for his annual hot dog fundraiser in support of the Strathmore Municipal Library! Your donation will include a hot dog, chips and water We look forward to seeing you there!
  • August 5th Strathmore Stampede 
    • Rodeo - 1pm 
    • Running with the Bulls - 6pm
    • Chuckwagon Races - 7pm
    • Cabaret featuring country band Foxx Worthee - Doors open at 8:30
