Strathmore will play host to a special night of wrestling on Friday evening.

Real Canadian Wrestling is heading back to the town for the first time in 10 years.

Steve Wilde, a wrestler with the company, says he's excited to be back in Strathmore for an action-packed night of fun.

"The room is going to be electric tomorrow night. We're expecting some walkups and almost near capacity we're hoping."

Wilde says wrestling fans are in for a few surprises, "Lio Rush, he was in WWE a few years back. He's been all over the world. He's actually just flying back from New Japan Pro Wrestling this week to come back for Strathmore."

RCW runs shows in downtown Calgary and Edmonton on a regular basis, but Wilde says they are also a staple in smaller communities around Alberta.

"The folks, when we go into communities, they seem to really enjoy our family show. It's a little edgy, but at the same time it's a show for the whole family."

Wilde turned pro when he was 17 and had his first paid wrestling show in the late-80s.

You can catch the action on Friday night at the Strathmore Ag Grounds at 7:30 p.m.
