Among all of the cancellations and closures around Alberta over the past few days, there have been many organizations that are making difficult decisions to close their doors for a period of time, in order to comply with Alberta Health Services (AHS) requests, recommendations, and necessary requirements to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the province.

Rosebud Theatre in response to the current health regulations regarding COVID-19 will not be going forward with their spring show Glorious! by Peter Quilter that was set to open on April 17 and run until May 24.

At this time the Board and Senior Staff reviewed their current season and even with the production not set to start for another month, the gathering for performers and staff to rehearse and prepare was a risk they were not going to take especially with the AHS recommendations regarding social distancing.

Along with concern for staff and performers the health and safety of patrons, volunteers, and the community is at the forefront of their minds and is a top priority.

At this time Rosebud Theatre will plan to continue the season in June with the production of Chariots of Fire for the summer, but will also make decisions for the seasons' shows based on directives and advice from AHS and public health authorities.

For those who have purchased tickets to Glorious! they will be contacted by Box Office staff to review options and to work towards alternative arrangements.

Ticket holders for cancelled performances will be contacted directly by our Box Office staff who will outline options and assist with alternative arrangements.

‍Morris Ertman Artistic Director For Rosebud Theatre wants to extend a thank you to all current and future patrons for patience and understanding during this uncertain time.
