Nielsen Farms and the Nielsen family got a special visit from Seed and Feed powered by JMR Mechanical today with a pizza lunch provided by Mike's Bar and Grill.
The 104.5 More Country team was busy today with two separate deliveries to two equally deserving farms. One stop had us just outside Standard at Nielsen Farms we asked Bob Nielsen his favourite thing about farming,
“Pretty much everything, except when things break down and go wrong. But just putting the grain in the ground and watching it grow and you know, hopefully, you take off a good crop.
He was also happy to show off his farm's roots which stretch back to 1918, “My grandfather built this house. In 1918, the year my dad was born, he built it for my grandma, that was when they were married, and It's still standing here.”
Nielsen was happy for an easy start to the seeding season, and after returning from wintering in Arizona. He is hoping to see some rain for both his crops and maybe a change from the dry weather he is used to
