On Saturday, October 20, 2018, the Strathmore High School Spartans (SHS) cross country team traveled to Vermillion, AB for their provincials.

Cross Country Running Coach Paul Sonsteby said, "The team won bronze in the more important team category. There are upwards of 144 runners per race and our best runners were around 30, (Olivia Wilson) or 43 (Luke Schramm). Then the total points are calculated because all of our runners did well."

19 Runners from SHS took part in provincials on a very tough course, the team had a great showing with a lot of the runners having a personal best time.

With this outing, the SHS team does remain at the 3A level as one of the elite teams.
