The Strathmore High School (SHS) Sr. Girls Basketball Team was recognized at Strathmore Town Council earlier this week (April 17) for winning the 3A Provincial championship for the second year.

"On behalf of the town of Strathmore, our Council and our administration want to congratulate you for not only winning South Central Zones two years in a row, which is a great feat in itself because we know that South Central Zones is tough, but you're now repeating as provincial champions," expressed Mayor Pat Fule.

Fule expressed his gratitude for the coaching staff's and players' efforts and dedication to playing through their injuries.

"You've brought great honor, prestige, and fame to Strathmore High and the Town of Strathmore."

Fule hopes the council will honor other provincial school sports teams that win provincials more often.

"I want us to be able to honor other things like academic achievements and artistic achievements in the arts, but for tonight, we will be honoring the Strathmore High School Sr. Girls Basketball Team."

Each senior girl's Basketball Team player individually took a picture with the council as Head Coach Dion Galandy introduced them.
