Strathmore Spartan football player Bodey Pettifer has signed with St. Francis Xavier University (StFX) in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.

Pettifer, who played slotback with the Spartans, has been playing football since he was 12 years old.

He joined the Spartans in grade 10 and has played for coach Danny Warrack during his entire high school career.

“Danny Warrack has been a great coach. He is realistic and holds all of us accountable,” Pettifer said.

It has been a journey for Pettifer. While balancing school, football, and training, he has seen success from all his hard work.

Pettifer trains five days a week during the off-season and four days a week during the football season with Kyle Donsberger at Impulse Athletics in Calgary.

“I coached Bodey all three years. I saw how much training he put in to get there. He earned it. It didn't come easy,” Warrack said.

While playing football at StFX, Pettifer will be pursuing a degree in business with a minor in economics.

He is excited about his new journey in Nova Scotia and would like to thank his parents, coach Warrack, and trainer Kyle Donsberger for supporting him.

Pettifer will be joining former Strathmore Spartan football player Nathan Cayouette, at StFX this fall.
