Strathmore now has surpassed 30 active cases of COVID-19 with 33 in total. Wheatland County's numbers have decreased significantly with only six active cases.

Both the town of Strathmore and Wheatland County remain under enhanced status for the time being.

Main restrictions for the Strathmore area include no indoor social gatherings in any setting including private homes or workplaces. The Alberta Government does not require masks to be worn indoors under the provincial mandate, but the Town of Strathmore passed a Face Covering Bylaw last week that has come into effect.

The Alberta Government continues to encourage:

  • Staying two metres apart when you can, wear a mask when you can't
  • Practice good hygiene: wash your hands often and cover coughs and sneezes
  • Monitor your symptoms every day. If sick, stay home, get tested, and follow mandatory isolation requirements while waiting for results: if positive, isolate from others for 10 days or until symptoms are gone, whichever is longer. If negative, stay home until you're better
  • Avoid non-essential travel
  • Get the flu shot to keep influenza cases low so health workers can focus on the COVID-19 pandemic
