With restrictions easing that means for the first time in months the residents of Strathmore and surrounding areas can have consistent access to the recreation facilities in town

Mark Pretzlaf recreation and culture manager is ready to see residents getting the chance to come back, "We're really excited about having all our facilities open and the last facility that opened was the Sports Centre, so we're seeing obviously some increased numbers of people utilizing facilities."

Currently, there is one sheet of ice available for use at the arena with private rentals and public skating available, as well the pool is up and running with public and lane swims running and lessons coming back this summer. At the Strathmore Motor Products Sports Centre there will also be summer camps held, "We have got three very busy facilities," noted Pretzlaf.

The facilities are back to running the way residents were used to in the past, "Right now there are no restrictions. We're asking people to utilize some of the systems that we put in place before, such as pre-booking times and things like that, just so we can have a better headcount of what's going on within each facility. But there are no limitations at this time."

The last two weeks have seen an increase and the town staff has been thrilled to see so many residents coming back to use the facilities and are looking ahead to more programming coming in the future.
