As of 8:45 a.m., it is -21 degrees Celsius with a wind chill of -29.

Snow is blowing on the roads, making some areas icy and slippery.

The Trans-Canada highway between Strathmore and Calgary is partially covered with snow and ice, and it is recommended to use caution while driving.

The 817 heading north out of town is also partially covered up until Highway 564.

If you are headed to Calgary today, use caution while driving in the city, as most major roads are partially covered in snow and ice, including:

  • 16th Avenue
  • Macleod Trail
  • Stoney Trail
  • Deerfoot Trail
  • Sarcee Trail
  • Glenmore Trail

Ongoing periods of snow will continue until 1 p.m.

By 2 p.m. today, the sun should be out, and it will have warmed up to -16 degrees Celsius, hopefully clearing up some of those roads for your commute home.
