The South Central Alberta Hockey Wheatland Warriors won the Bantam AA Provincial Championships over the weekend, which means they are now the top team in the province.

Head coach for the Wheatland Warriors, Cody Brown, said, “they are pretty excited. Pretty good feather in the cap to know you are the top team in the province. They definitely are pretty happy, and rightfully so.”

Brown feels very proud of the team. He explained the team put in a lot of work this year. He is glad the team did not quit, and fought hard until the very end.

Brown said, “the final team we played, Lakeland, they are a real solid hockey team. They weren’t going to give you anything easy out there.” Brown explained when the team got out on the ice they played one of the best games all season.

Brown mentioned, “we are real thankful to have a good group like we did this season, and to have the success that we did, so it’s pretty special. Doesn’t happen all the time, so proud of the boys.”

With this victory for the Warriors, the team ended the season in success.
