For many years REVS (also known as registration, education, volunteer, services.) has been a place for organizations from Strathmore and surrounding areas to gather and for residents to attend to sign their children and themselves up for different activities.

That all changed in the Fall of 2020 in response to COVID-19  when the town took REVS to a digital platform and have continued to do that through 2021.

Geoff Person the town's Communication Manager explained why they will continue down this path, “The town is really happy with the response from our digital REVS page. About 30 community groups and activities are sharing their information, and we've seen hundreds of visits to the site so far.”

With much greater visibility from the digital REVS page Person explained that there will be more focus on the promotion of the digital side.

Seeing the results from last year when REVS initially went onto a digital platform Person noted that there are definite positives for residents and for organizations.

"This has been a silver lining from COVID-19. We weren't able to host an event last year, but our digital solution reached more people than an in-person event usually would. So our goal is to help the community groups achieve full participation in their activities. We're always going to review our promotional activities to achieve that goal, so we'll keep an eye on this."

As they are just starting to hear back from the organizations and groups that are participating the town hopes to have a clear picture of how different groups are finding the connection with residents through the digital platform and how it is working for them.

The town sees the benefits to having an online presence for REVS, with all of the information located in one place it is easier for people to navigate, find contacts, and possibly even discover a new group they may not have known about in the past.

The REVS page will remain on the town's website as a permanent feature so that residents can continue to find what they are looking for and discover new things, as well, existing and new organizations will have a place to share their information on a more consistent basis.
