The Agra Risk Wheatland Kings are getting ready to tee off for a special golf event to raise funds for the team.

Cody Holdaway, general manager of the club, says the money will be put to good use.

"The money raised at the golf tournament will go from everything to helping get the bus down the road to creating a better fan experience and getting cool things at our games."

The club is hoping to hit a $10,000 goal.

According to Holdaway, the team is a nonprofit society which runs off donations from corporate partners.

This is the first time the event is being hosted by the Kings.

"We're going to have two teams per hole. We've already had several teams register for the tournament. A lot of our corporate partners are going to come out and golf. We're starting to see teams register already but there are still spots," says Holdaway.

The event will run at the Strathmore Golf Club on August 15.
