In a time where self-isolation and even quarantine is required to help stop the spread of COVID-19, it can be hard to stay positive. Mental health and wellness are important to remember to take care of in a time of high-stress situations and isolation from people. Alberta Health Services has introduced a new program called Text4Hope that can help people find the encouragement and support they might need.

Text4Hope is a free service that offers daily messages that will provide advice and encouragement helpful in developing healthy personal coping skills and resiliency. Albertans can simply text COVID19HOPE to 393939 to subscribe. Text4Hope aims to ease feelings of stress or anxiety during these challenging times associated with COVID-19.

The program is free because of the support from the Mental Health Foundation, the University Hospital Foundation, the Calgary Health Trust, the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation, and the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation.

The Text4Hope service provides a one-way communication and does not replace other mental health therapies and supports. If you need additional support you can contact the Mental Health Help Line at 1-877-303-2642 or Kids Help Phone at 1-800-668-6868
