The Brooks Bandits will host the Surrey Eagles tonight for game one of the Rocky Mountain Challenge.

The Bandits were recently crowned the Alberta Cup champions and their opponents took home the Fred Page Cup.

Dakota Mason, the assistant coach with the Bandits says having home-ice advantage this series is key.

"We thrive off of the energy that our crowd brings. And they definitely do a really good job of making sure it's a loud and intimidating place for the opponents."

Defenseman Keith McInnis says the group is gearing up and ready to go for tonight's game.

"Being able to close out the year with this big of an event and have all these people here and have the two best teams in Canada play each other at this level, it's super exciting."

Puck drop is at 7p.m.
