The Brooks Bandits have won the Rocky Mountain Challenge.

The hockey club took home the hardware after sweeping the Surrey Eagles 4-1 in Game 2 of their best-of-three series.

Defenseman Ethan Byer says the team had an amazing season.

"Our coaches and the players and just all the hard work the coaches have put in. Whether that's video, working with us one-on-one on the ice."

Forward Hunter Wallace was named the game's first star, as well as the Rocky Mountain Challenge Most Valuable Player.

The Bandits also won the Alberta Cup after beating the Okotoks Oilers in Game 7 of the semifinals and then beat the Sherwood Park Crusaders in five games during the championship series.
