Transportation registration is now open for the 2024/25 school year.

Bussing services are available to students within the Golden Hills School Division (GHSD) divisional boundaries, and students attending a school of choice can meet a bus at an existing stop, provided there is capacity on the bus.

GHSD operates bus routes for students from Strathmore, Drumheller, and the counties of Wheatland and Kneehill.

As of the 2012/13 school year, GHSD has eliminated a transportation fee.

"We believe this has positively impacted our enrollment," GHSD stated in its 2022/23 Transportation Monitoring Report.

Last year, GHSD transported 3,525 students, representing 56 per cent of regular funded student enrollment.

GHSD transportation registration can be made HERE.

Christ the Redeemer School Division (CTR) contracts its school bus service through Southland Transportation and also has no transportation fees.

CTR transports more than 4,000 students within Brooks, Oyen, Okotoks, Strathmore, Drumheller, High River, and Canmore communities.

Transportation registration and any changes to registration can be made HERE.

Alberta has approximately 600,000 students, and about 50 per cent ride the bus daily.
