At approximately 4:45 pm on January 12, members of the Drumheller General Investigation Section (GIS) and General Duty members executed a Search Warrant at a residence in the 700 block of 4th Street SW in Drumheller as the result of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking.  The search led to the discovery of various quantities of illicit drugs including suspected oxycodone, percocets, psilocybin (also known as magic mushrooms), cocaine, and marijuana.  In addition, a taser, a large amount of cash, and other property and evidence, were seized all of which are consistent and indicative of trafficking a controlled substance(s).

Two male suspects, both from the Drumheller Valley, were taken into custody during the operation and have since been released.  RCMP continue to investigate this matter and charges are pending.

“Drumheller RCMP members continue to focus on a variety of crime within our communities including the trafficking of drugs.  This operation is another example of our GIS Unit and General Duty members working together to ensure a safe community," said Drumheller RCMP Detachment Commander Staff Sergeant Robert Harms.
