We are exactly a month away from shinning our boots for the 57th annual Strathmore Stampede and the Strathmore & District Agricultural Society (SAG) are still in need of volunteers.

Seasonal office volunteer coordinator Cassidy Davidson explains that there are typically between 400 to 500 volunteers that make the Strathmore Stampeded run efficiently.

"We have a very small group of employees that work at the Ag grounds and if we don't have the volunteers that we need than honestly, the Stampede doesn't happen. They are so crucial for us."

Volunteers get free entry into the grounds and receive a free T-shirt and some free meal vouchers.

"Then they are absolutely welcome to go in and check out any of the events when they're off shift from their volunteering.  Also this year, we are introducing a volunteer discount card. So, we have reached out to local businesses and around town and they are providing discounts to our volunteers up until December 31st so there is an extra perk this year."

Volunteers can be from the ages of 8 to 65 or older, Davidson added that they are in desperate need of volunteers who are 18 plus so that they can sell their 50/50 tickets and for working in the beer gardens.

"If families want to volunteer, we have space for them as well. We have administration, our info booth, ushering and parking."

If you would like to volunteer at the Strathmore Stampede you can go to the Strathmore & District Agricultural Society's office or you can go to strathmorestampede.com/volunteer.
