The unusually warm and dry conditions due to our recent heat wave has resulted in a fire advisory for the Town of Strathmore.
The advisory is issued to inform residents about conditions which pose a moderate to high fire risk in the municipality.
Fires requiring a permit, including open air burning and fireworks, are prohibited. However, you'll still be able to barbecue or use a fire pit with a screen or chimney. If you decide to use a fire pit, you must monitor it and be ready to extinguish it if it gets out of control. A nearby garden hose will do the trick.
