In this basketball example, three in the key are allowed because they are all family.  The Brothers Dirks Matt, Issac, and Josh have been putting years of cohabitation to good use on the basketball court which resulted in their latest gold win at a tournament in mid-January.  Matt Dirks describes the competitive nature of the family, "We just all have started playing sports. My parents all played in like High school or university sports, so we just started to love it. Everything is a competition, everything, even how much you eat is a competition we all push each other."

Junior High A Boys basketball team coach, Joe Sergent talks about the methods used to get them playing well as a team, "We kind have run two defences this year we are equipped for any situation. We run a zone defence, and a man defence. Based on what tournament tell us to do we can adapt to both. I think the biggest thing was overall gameplay, being able to put themselves into game situations to where they can succeed or fail or whatever we are trying to do, and if they are failing we can correct them and build them up, so they can get into a situation that they are in the game, it is not brand new to them."

Josh and brother Issac believe that even though they can easily get on each other's nerves the payoff is much higher, "It makes us an awesome team we see each other on the court very good, and we can communicate very well with the team.  Yeah, we have played together our whole lives, so it is easy to know where we are going to go.  If we make a bad shot we know that we can make it next time, stuff like that. Sometimes when somebody makes a bad shot or something we are used to getting mad at each other and that is not the best thing but we get over it quickly."

This week they will be looking to see how they measure up to visiting Red Deer Lake Basketball team, who are known a very competitive team.  It should give the Falcons a good indication of how the team is performing in the league
