With the school year coming to a close the Golden Hills School Division (GHSD) is planning ahead for the changes that will be coming to the schools and classrooms across Strathmore and Wheatland County.

Bevan Daverne GHSD Superintendent notes as the school division moves forward those changes will be put into effect from additional cleaning and sanitizing, more frequent hand washing for students and staff, and adjusting for physical distancing. In addition to that Daverne notes that families and students will see the use of masks in some situations as well.

A survey was sent to parents in June and the response was what Daverne was hoping for "A huge response a very large number of parents and students responded and your feedback and comments have been very helpful as we have been planning for the fall."

There are 3 possible scenarios families will see in the fall at this time GHSD is not sure what scenario they will be coming back to but the GHSD team is hoping for the near to normal option. however, in the event that is not the case, the school division is planning for each possibility as they make their way into the 2020 - 2021 school year.

Daverne wants to reassure families that they are preparing for each outcome and providing details as they have them to families, "We have all the details for this plan in our health and safety section of our school relaunch guide if you go to our website they'll be a link right on the front page."

GHSD School Relaunch Guide can be found here.
