UPDATE***
At approximately 4:30 am on Sunday, morning RCMP advise that Highway 1 between Highway 56 and Range Road 202 had been reopened.
One adult male was taken into custody and charges are pending at this time, there were no reported injuries.

At 8:15 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, Gleichen RCMP is advising Highway 1 between Highway 56 and Range Road 202 is closed due to a police incident.
There will be a heavy police presence in the area until the matter is resolved. The area is being contained by the RCMP and they are asking motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
There is no risk to the public.
