Holy Cross Collegiate Senior Boys Basketball team has been pushing their game to new levels and has been building on that momentum to the point where even though they are suffering some injuries that are hurting their team overall they still can find new ways to win.  Head Coach Josh Jalbert outlines the way the game went to achieve the silver win, "We played Didsbury in our first game, and ended up with a 24 point lead in the third quarter. It was kind of a tough go, we didn't actually make any three-pointers, but they pulled through it was kind of a hard-fought win for us. Then we played Drumheller in the semi-final game and at halftime, we made some adjustments.  We came through and won that game by eight or so.  Then the final we were were playing Acme. We lost by 18 in the final."

One of their big offensive weapons Joe Szasz was injured in the last home tournament at HCC and was only able to put 60 per cent of his skill into the game.  Overcoming a finger injury he pulled though by sheer perseverance.

Jalbert was really happy with the way his team adapted to the new playing dynamic with an injured Szasz, "We did a good job of focusing on playing hard defense and not giving up. Even though things were not going our way we did pull through defensively. We started playing stronger and quicker, and that is really what got us through the weekend was our defense.  I think we saw a different way to win this weekend which was really good for our team."
