Getting back into the groove over the weekend is the name of the game for Strathmore's Holy Cross Collegiate senior basketball team.  Some of their key players are still recovering from injury and the comeback of their point guard helped the situation, but they are still coming around when a bad start to the tournament led to the team playing catch up for the remainder of the games.  Head Coach Joshua Jalbert talked about the obstacles they had to overcome, "We finished third on the weekend. We played our first game against Canmore, it was probably a game we should have won. We lost by four in the game. It was a little frustrating to come out on a loss on that."

Gaining momentum from the loss and showing real grit to come back and beat Airdrie Francophone School set them up to face Canmore for the bronze.  Jalbert recounts the keys to their success, "The third-place game we won 74 to 42, so we played quite strong. We were only up by four at halftime, and then we switched our defence, and we played stronger on offence making better decisions.  It was a good result for us."

In the next games, the team will be working on having a stronger start out of the gate and focusing on the defence by putting the pressure on.
