The 2023-24 school year is officially underway, and with that you'll want to know what important dates are coming up so you can plan ahead. Here are the important dates you'll need to know about for the start of the school year, for September-December 2023.
Golden Hills School Division
September 22: PD day, no students.
September 29: Orange Shirt Day. Annual Truth and Reconciliation day is on the 30, but that's a Saturday so GHSD will be honouring the day on Friday, September 29. The orange shirts commemorate the residential school experience, witnessing and honouring the healing journey of the survivors and their families.
October 6: School closure, no staff or students
October 9: Thanksgiving, no students
October 27: Collaborative day, no students
November 10: School closure, no staff or students
November 24: Day in lieu, no staff or students
December 8: School closure, no staff or students
December 22: Last day of school before the Christmas break. Students return on January 8
