Legacy Barn is having an open house on Thursday from 5-7 pm for the Legacy Farm Project. Director of Business Development for the Legacy Farm Project Scott Silva says that it is really the culmination of 2023 to date and the advancing of the project from the then approved 2002 area structure plan.

"Right now, is a great chance to showcase the updates from the project to the public."

Throughout the open house, Silva explains that you will not only see the development of the land itself for the entire project where you will see five different phases of development and there will also be the opportunity to discuss how you can become involved with the project.

"They can get involved through volunteer levels, through some of the different societies and organizations that we have been working with. One of the key points of this project has always been the regional collaboration of everybody and anybody that can and wants to be involved. This community of Wheatland and Strathmore are absolutely amazing so when a project like this comes out, it's great to see everybody wanting to be involved."

Silva explained that this project is going to be a 7–10-year development. "When you look at that, that's an overall timeline because of the scale of the project. What you'll be seeing on Thursday is some of the immediate action items that will be happening this year in the development of both phase one and then the next phase, which is the Green Horizon Industrial Park."

Silva says that everything is going to be broken down into more digestible pieces on Thursday of the five elements of the Legacy Farm project and will provide a further understanding of how it is all planning to come together.

"We're going to have all the informational boards up there, but our immediate next steps are really going to be a lot of fun and community based, and really all around the legacy barn itself and growing the entire project. You'll be able to access social media, so you will be able to see ongoing and current updates and at this time on Thursday come down and check it out and you'll get all the news and details."

Silva and the whole team already on board with this project are thrilled to see the level of engagement they are seeing from the entire region and even people from Calgary and farther.

"It is just really exciting, and I am really excited about the passion everyone's been putting into the Legacy Farm project."
