It’s been over a year since the last live performance hosted by the folks at the Strathmore Musical Arts Society and Alberta Foundation For The Arts, and they’re excited for the upcoming Blake Reid Band and Over The Moon concert at the Strathmore Travelodge on November 6.

Brooke Quinn from the Strathmore Musical Arts Society explains, “We are very excited. We had a concert in September that was postponed because of the restrictions, so we're very excited that we have to go ahead from AHS and that we're able to bring back Over The Moon and Blake Reid.”

“They're definitely popular, and they're well known, so we're very, very excited to be able to have a night for the community and have some good artists out,” she said.

The doors to the venue will open at 6 p.m. followed by a three-course roast beef dinner with cheesecake for dessert at 7 p.m. and the opening act for the night, Locals at 8 p.m.

There will also be an open bar.

In order to take part in this impressive evening of musical entertainment, participants' must have proof of vaccination or a negative rapid test. Those showing symptoms of COVID-19 will not be allowed entry. Masks will also be required at the bar, washrooms, and for dancing. Masks should be worn unless patrons are sitting at their designated tables and social distancing will be required.

For $50 concertgoers get their ticket to the live show and dinner.

Tickets will be available at Assist Business Centre, ConnectFirst Credit Union, Pro Water Systems, and Strathmore Home Hardware.

Meanwhile, mark your calendar as the Musical Arts Society has the Two Bit Bandits coming back on February 12. Quinn explains that the music will be free with $30 for the dinner and the monetary proceeds going to the Strathmore Overnight Shelter. Then on May 14, keep an eye out for singer and songwriter John Wort Hannam.
