Back in January 2023, Drumheller RCMP started an investigation into drug trafficking after they discovered multiple packages that they believed were being dropped by a drone at the Drumheller Institution.

It was a collaborative investigation between multiple RCMP branches, including Strathmore RCMP, Calgary Police Service, Edmonton Police Service, RCMP Forensic Identification Section (FIS), RCMP Special Investigations, and more.

On December 1, 2023, police executed two search warrants at a residence in Calgary and a residence in Red Deer.

As a result of the search warrant, the following was seized:

  • A drone
  • Cell phones
  • Drug Paraphernalia
  • A quantity of methamphetamine, GHB, psilocybin, and MDMA

Following the investigation, Drumheller RCMP charged 35-year-old Jessica Lavallee, a resident of Red Deer, with the following:

  • Possession of MDMA for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of GHB for the Purpose of Trafficking
