Downtown Jamming is back! Marlene Risdon from The Rack On Third is bringing back a downtown live jam session to downtown Strathmore, just in time for the annual Strathmore Stampede.

Risdon who is organizing the event with musician Les Schultz, will be hosting the open mic session right in from of her store. The business will be decorated and there will be hay bales for people to sit down and enjoy the sounds. Residents are also welcome to bring their own chair and hang out.

“I had it two years ago,’ said Risdon. This time it's only for one day. It's on Saturday, July 31st and as soon as the parade is over it starts and anybody can come,” she said.

People can register ahead of time with Schultz she explained, or they can drop in and use the open mic and play.

Downtown Jamming will take place from approximately noon to 5 p.m.

“We're hoping everybody, all the businesses downtown are all decorated for Stampede,” she said.

“Hopefully everybody decorates and it will be fun downtown."

The aim of Downtown Jamming is to bring people into the downtown core of Strathmore after the parade to enjoy an atmosphere of music and fun, while relaxing downtown.
