A local resident from just outside of Strathmore Jennifer Fraser and her prize pup Daiquiri, a five year old Australian Shepard, made it into the spotlight on the famous TV show America’s Got Talent (AGT) that airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on Citytv. It’s no surprise that Fraser and Daiquiri got four yes’s from the judges and will move on to the next phase of the competition as Fraser has won many championships nationally and regionally for her dog training skills. Fraser said that she’s being going to dog shows ever since she was in a stroller and her grandma started teaching her how to handle dogs at about the age of three. The dog training skill now runs in the family as Fraser’s kids have started to train dogs as well.

Fraser described her time on the show and said, “Oh it was absolutely amazing, it was so much fun. The crew and producers and judges on AGT were just fantastic, they were just such nice, friendly, helpful people, they helped relax my nerves, they gave me an area where I could train with Daiquiri to make sure he was ready for the stage. It was so much fun.” She said the process to get on the show took several months. They sent in their audition tapes and were later contacted by a producer of the show and asked if they could join them on stage and audition live in front of the judges so that’s what they did. Fraser said that the judges gave her and Daiquiri 4 quick yes’s with no hesitation and she’s excited to hopefully move on to the next round.

Fraser went on to explain that “They were supposed to film judges cuts last month but of course COVID has kind of put everything on hold. I don’t even think the LA film industry has opened up yet and of course the boarders are closed as well so those are all obstacles that we hope that will be wiped away so that we can continue our journey, if not I guess I’m going to have to live with that one time experience.” She said that her and Daiquiri were able to audition right before everything shut down so now they are trying to figure out a way for the show to go on.

Fraser almost didn’t end up getting Daiquiri as she was looking for a female dog but, after all the signs and pictures of Daiquiri popping up on her social media feeds she went out on a limb and got him and doesn’t regret a single moment of it. Fraser and Daiquiri’s next adventure is to see how many world records they can break as they currently already have one Guinness World Record under their belt. Right now they hold the record for the most tricks in 60 seconds with 60 tricks and are looking to break more over the next few weeks. “I started researching other records that we could do and I found over a dozen that he will be able to do successfully and quickly, so we’re actually going to be going to Strathmore park on the weekends and if we can find some official timekeepers which is the tough part because you need official timekeepers from like an athletics club or just even an athletics teacher to come out and time us and then get a couple witnesses together and break some world records there in the Strathmore park,” explained Fraser.

Anyone interested in volunteering as a timekeeper of witness to help Jen and Daiquiri break some world records can contact her on her website HERE. People can check out the videos of her AGT audition on her website as well. Fraser also owns a luxury dog boarding hotel called Paradise Kennels that you can check out HERE.
