Rocking R Guest Ranch has won the Trip Advisors Travelers Choice Award for a second year in a row! Only ten percent of businesses on Trip Advisor can claim this award.
The Ranch has been a staple in the community for seven years. They have tourists visit from across Alberta, Canada, and The United States, and even tourists from overseas that come to experience the country life that Rocking R has to offer.
Ryan Carriere and his family took ownership of the Rocking R Guest Ranch two years ago and in those two years, they have won the Travelers Choice Award twice. The award is for guest accommodations that go above and beyond and is voted by the guests themselves.
“It means that guests who come to the ranch are really happy with their stay, and they really enjoyed their time here.”
Every year Trip Advisor analyzes all the reviews, and they pick the best of the best Carriere says because of that, it is really special to them.
Carriere loves having people from all walks of life come and experience the western lifestyle, but he also loves being able to work with businesses all around Wheatland County.
“We're giving them (guests) access to a lot of the businesses that we partner with in Wheatland County and Strathmore and it's all about community and we love working with our local business partners.”
The Ranch offers a variety of attractions for people to enjoy. Things like horseback riding, trail rides, fly-fishing, white-water rafting, ice fishing, and many other activities for the guests to participate in.
They also offer venue spaces for any events like weddings, birthday celebrations, or corporate events.
Carriere explained the last owner focused most of their time on perfecting the wedding package for their guests, while one of the goals that he has for the ranch is to make Rocking R a ‘local hub’ and focus more on activities like barn dances and birthday parties.
“We're looking at doing more barn dances more kind of gatherings, we're opening up a cafe during the summer and we're going to have food trucks.”
Rocking R just got their liquor license, and they have a gorgeous patio, Carriere is looking forward to welcoming guests and day visitors to enjoy the food, drinks and company this summer.
