Local Sacred Heart Academy students get to learn about the sport of Curling at a young age in Strathmore.  Sponsored by the Egg Farmers Rocks and Rings program students from smaller towns get hands-on training in the sport and the final lessons taking place on the ice.  Instructor Jodi Hartung said, " I think Curling is important to Canada and it's heritage and that the sport is becoming less and less available."

Geneiveve Volk, Phys Ed teacher at Sacred Heart Academy brought the program to Strathmore five years ago and she says, "I really see the progress by grade five and six-students that have gone through the whole program with me and really taking what they have learned and applying it today."
