The Edmonton Oilers pulled out a 3-2-win last night to advance to the Western Conference Final.

The Oilers defeated the Vancouver Canucks in game 7 and will now face off against the Dallas Stars.

Edmonton took a 3-0 lead into the 3rd period where Vancouver scored two unanswered goals but ultimately came up short.

Local fans like Darrin Hansen say they are ecstatic to see the team move forward as they continue to pursue Lord Stanley's Mug.

"It's gonna be tough against Dallas, but you know, hopefully they can just keep battling and go to the cup finals."

According to Hansen, despite the game going down to the wire, he's really happy to see his team advance.

"Pretty cool that they made it through. And from the rough start they had at the start of the year, to going to the conference final now, that's pretty awesome for them."

Game one between the Oilers and Stars will go on Thursday night at 6:30 p.m.
