The Strathmore Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 10 is getting ready to celebrate 100 years of the Great Memorial Hall.
Plans are underway for festivities to take place from July 8 to July 11, 2022.
According to a Strathmore Royal Canadian Legion news release, “A lot has changed in our community these past 100 years, but the Great War Memorial Hall has continued to stand tall as a commemorative symbol of those lost to war. More importantly, the Hall is a gathering space; a place that promotes community well-being and support to the veterans who return. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 10 Strathmore Executive is pleased to announce that plans are well underway for the upcoming 100th Memorial Hall Anniversary Celebrations.”
Some of the festivities will include a Family BBQ and breakfast, memorabilia displays, a Veterans’ Memorial Dinner, golf tournament, darts, and a re-dedication of the Hall.
All of the activities are designed to show support for our veterans and highlight the Hall as a place for the larger community and its importance to Strathmore and surrounding areas.
