On February 18, Crowther Memorial student Jon Ruzsinszki wanted to bring attention to the mental health of the RCMP in our community.

He set up a booth at the school to raise awareness about mental health and raise funds to show support to Strathmore's RCMP.

Strathmore Sgt. Mark Wielgosz appreciated the effort that Ruzsinski put forward, "It's certainly positive to see that there our students have it on their minds where they're concerned about others first and foremost. For those who are in their community, and then especially first responders, regardless about police, fire, or EMS."

There are resources that are available to officers explained Sgt. Wielgosz, "We do have a high level of resources internally that are afforded to us as part of our regular health benefits, but we also have our peer-to-peer program as well as other online supports and telephone supports."

With those resources available the RCMP officers were still very thankful to see the support of the student body at Crowther Memorial

Wielgosz went on to say that along with these supports every member has access to their own personal health provider and again enhanced benefits.
