The Strathmore Thunder Fastpitch season is coming to an end for the 2019 season with many teams seeing great success. 

The Strathmore Thunder U16 Gibson finished off the regular season sitting fourth place in the standings.  The team did suffer a loss in their opening game heading into the playoffs.

The team decided to make a change according to head coach Dawn Gibson and switched to their lucky pink shirts.  They battled back and managed to avoid elimination, with the drive to make it to the finals the team knocked off the top three seeded teams, and got the chance to play in the finals for the gold.

With drive and determination, the team headed into the final to play West Valley 2 after a tough game the score was 13 - 12  with West Valley 2 taking the gold and the Strathmore Thunder U16 team winning the silver medal in the Division 2 city championships.

 "Although it’s tough to come so far and lose in the gold medal game in the City Championship, we couldn’t be more proud of this amazing group of girls who never gave up! They made us coaches very proud. Well done Strathmore Thunder on your silver medal," Gibson said. 

This game was the last of the season for this team winning silver was the teams' third medal of the season, winning bronze in two previous tournaments Coach Gibson has enjoyed seeing the success her team had this season.
