Despite the weather over the weekend, the Town of Strathmore spoke at the 2024 Alberta Recreation and Parks Association (ARPA) Forum Series.

"While we didn’t make it to Canmore, we were still able to Zoom in and share our experiences and insights with Strathmore’s Indigenous Healing Garden," read a statement on the town of Strathmore's Facebook.

They also spoke about the role of parks in driving positive change within the community.

The healing garden is by the Strathmore Municipal Building to teach and connect people to the indigenous culture.

The ARPA hosts the Park Forum series each year, an event inspired by the incredible diversity of Alberta’s parks, landscapes, and open spaces.

The 2024 Parks Forum theme was Parks: Agents of Change and brought together hundreds of delegates from across Western Canada, representing various sectors within the parks industry.

"We were honoured to be invited to speak. Thanks, for joining us Councillor Breaker."
