Allie and Kim headed out to Poplar Bluff Organics to deliver lunch on Thursday!

This particular Grain Rush was a bit different than what we are used to as they grow carrots, potatoes, and all sorts of other fantastic veggies. We sat down with Owner Rosemary Wotske who has been running her

business for decades now!

"We are just in the middle (of harvest), we have got most of the carrots and the beets up, and we are just getting rolling on the potatoes. Dead last comes parsnips, it's usually dead last and its snowing!" she chuckled.

Lunch was, of course, provided by Hunger Paynes and Kim's Catering thanks to our sponsor Strathmore Dodge. Rosemary's crew of 14 people bellied up to the bar for lunch and left with full stomachs.

Rosemary gave us the fun fact that there are 6,000 different variations of potatoes in the world. Who knew? This girl really loves her veggies to have been farming it for this long!

"One of my favourite personal things is just the quiet nights, listening to the birds and seeing the birds go through my pear trees and cleaning it out," she explained.

Deliveries are running until October 2 and we look forward to meeting more farmers and their crews over the next couple of weeks. If you are that farmer than nominate yourself and your crew!
