Brandon McGillivray is your Strathmore Motor Products King of the Week.

The Wheatland Kings centre has three goals and three assists in 13 games so far this season.

McGillivray's had him on skates at the age of five and the rest is history.

"I've been playing hockey since Timbit but this isn't something that I want to take professionally."

McGillivray was raised in a big sports family with a sister who played volleyball and a dad who was a snowboarder and skater.

"I started hockey and snowboarding at a young age, so I was kind of thrown into the world of sports really quickly."

McGillivray enjoys what hockey brings to his life and the environment of the sport but his time is filling up more and more. He has a full-time job and plans to continue his career by going to school.

"Next year I am hoping to take my Business degree and then major in marketing. Hopefully at MRU."

He says that his biggest strength is the vision he has on the ice.

The Kings are 7-5-2 on the year with their next game on Saturday in Didsbury against the Mountainview Colts.
