Gleichen RCMP have advised that Highway 1 at Range Road 211, east of Gleichen has reopened. 

At approximately 10:00 a.m Wednesday morning Gleichen RCMP responded to a serious motor vehicle collision at this location.

A passenger vehicle collided with a semi truck. The driver of the passenger vehicle and lone occupant, a 25-year-old female resident of Calgary, was declared deceased at the scene. The semi driver was uninjured.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended to the scene. The cause of the collision remains under investigation. No further updates are anticipated.
