Strathmore High School (SHS) will be hosting the 3A Girls Volleyball Championship this weekend.

Kiana Coone, player for the Spartans girls volleyball team, says they're playing well and excited to welcome top-level teams to town.

"We have a lot of good chemistry on our team and even with some players getting sick and some getting injured we are still pushing through and doing what we need to do to win."

Coone told Strathmorenow.com her biggest strength and asset is her insight.

"I feel I am smart on the court rather than just pounding a ball."

She thinks the Spartans have a good chance at taking home the title.

The championship starts on Friday (Nov 17) and goes till Saturday (Nov 18). Strathmore's first game is against High River at 12:45 p.m. on Friday.
