A man from Wheatland County plus three other people has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of Calgary woman Tara Miller. 

37-year-old Miller's remains were found near Okotoks near the intersection of Highway 552 and 128th Street E. on March 30, 2023. Miller's death was considered a homicide leading to the arrest of three men and one woman last week. 

The RCMP announced the charges on Monday morning and said all four of the accused were arrested on Jan. 18.

The arrested are as follows:

24-year-old Jared Burke of Wheatland County has been charged with:

  • Manslaughter.
  • Aggravated assault.
  • Using a firearm in an indictable offense.

Burke is scheduled to appear in Calgary court on Thursday (Jan 25). 

30-year-old Gurpreet Gill of Calgary has been charged with:

  • First-degree murder.
  • Aggravated assault.
  • Using a firearm in an indictable offense.

Gill was scheduled to appear in Calgary court yesterday (Jan 22).

30-year-old Greg Schuster also from Calgary has been charged with:

  • Manslaughter.
  • Aggravated assault.
  • Accessory after the fact.

Schuster is scheduled to appear in Calgary court on Feb. 1.

25-year-old Shyana Popplestone also from Calgary has been charged with:

  • Manslaughter

Popplestone is scheduled to appear in Calgary court on Friday (Jan 26).
