A vehicle was stolen from a residential area of Brooks on January 17 at 8 a.m. The owner briefly left the vehicle to warm up, and upon returning, noticed a man in the vehicle. The owner attempted to stop the suspect, who accelerated and drove away, causing minor injuries to the owner.

The RCMP said the suspect showed no regard for the owner or public safety as they fled the scene. Police continue to search the area for the vehicle and suspect.  

The vehicle is described as a beige 2004 Toyota Corolla, with an Albertan Licence Plate CDN 8566. There is a scratch located on the rear driver's side bumper.

The male suspect is described as:

  • Light complexion male
  • Round face with a large nose and his skin is described as having acne and looking “weathered”
  • 40-60 years old
  • Smokes cigarettes
  • Dark hair, approximately ear length, which is unkept
  • Stocky build
